In 2020 the Department of Education Victoria via the Victorian Deaf Education Institute (VDEI) contacted Oncall with a special request for a Deaf student based in Regional Victoria. Caroline a student at Swifts Creek P-12 School was receiving AUSLAN support from her mother Halina who was employed by the school as an interpreter to support Caroline’s learning as AUSLAN support was not readily available due to the remote location of the school.
